Hello and welcome to my personal website. This site contains a collection of my fictional and journalism-related works. I update it semi-regularly depending on how busy my life is at any given moment. I hope you enjoy reading some of the stuff on this site. It was crafted from many sleepless nights and hour-long loops of Hans Zimmer songs.

So a little bit about myself. As the name of the website would indicate, my name is Colton Redtfeldt. I'm an aspiring journalist student in the Pacific Northwest. I have high dreams of one day covering national politics for the largest publications in the nation and even world. I am also interested in human interest stories and exposing the injustices of the world.

I've been writing for as long as I can remember. When I was young, I remember sitting at my grandpa's dining room table stapling together some pieces of paper and making a "book" out of them. A few years later I started writing more seriously and by the end of my freshman year of high school I had self-published my first novel, The Demons Within.

It was around this time that I had started to get involved with my school newspaper. With a bit of luck and determination, I was able to land interviews with politicians like Washington State governors Christine Gregoire and Jay Inslee, ambassadors, CEOs and more. After a few of these interviews, I was picked up by my local newspaper, the Yakima Herald-Republic, and was invited to do some free-lance work with them through my four years in high school.

Now I'm in college at Western Washington University honing my skills and looking for the opportunity that will bring me closer to my lofty dreams. I know the road ahead is long -- the current state of the journalism industry makes that clear -- but I'm determined to get where I need to go.

When I'm not busy working on an article or a poem, I can be found in the gym lifting weights, exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest, or hanging out with friends and making memories. I also hope to travel more in the future. If you have any good destination recommendations, let me know!

Thanks for stopping by.
